FSBO Greenville-Spartanburg Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Disclaimer: This is provided for reference only and is not to be considered legal, financial, or tax advice from FSBO GSP.

Q. Is it difficult to buy FSBO?
A. No. There are several articles and books available that help you through the FSBO process. They are filled with valuable tips on how to make an offer, negotiating, etc.

Q. Are the listings on your site also on the MLS?
A. No. Sellers agree not to list their properties on MLS, therefore guaranteeing prices won’t be inflated due to agent commissions.

Q. Do you provide South Carolina real estate forms?
A. Yes. You can access them by clicking South Carolina Real Estate Forms.

Q. What is the first step in buying a house?
A. You should get pre-qualified prior to looking at homes so you know how much you can afford.

Q. How do I get to see the home?
A. Call or email the seller to schedule a time to view the home.

Q. How can I protect myself against the home being in poor condition?
A. Buyers should always get a home inspection to insure the property is free from defects. The buyer normally orders and pays for inspections.

Q. What if the inspection report states that repairs are needed?
A. You negotiate these repairs with the seller. Determine what they will fix for you prior to closing or you may negotiate a lower price and take care of the repairs yourself.

Q. Since I am not working with a realtor, where can I get the proper forms to make an offer?
A. Fsbogsp.com has many forms that are available to download. We have done this as a convenience, and we do not offer any legal, financial, or tax advice.

Q. Who orders the appraisal?
A. Your mortgage lender will order the appraisal.
